"Our home gives our family a sense of calm the moment we walk through the door. The generous living spaces flow effortlessly to the outdoors, inviting natural light and breezes throughout the day. The openness of the design makes everyday life feel relaxed and uncluttered, while the materials and forms are contemporary yet enduring, ensuring our home will not date. It is the perfect design for a family with three teenagers – functional and private but also allows us to come together and enjoy special moments and occasions. We feel like we are on a holiday every day we wake up!"

Mat & Ali
After living in their existing run-down pre-1946 cottage for several years, our clients experienced some discomfort due to the excessive heat & dysfunctional layout of the old home. The downstairs area had also been inundated with water in recent floods.
Our approach was to solve these functionality issues & also design a new home that blends the existing character with a sophisticated, contemporary 2-level extension.
A new ground floor elevated above flood levels finished in burnished concrete accommodates the living, dining & kitchen spaces which are centered around a sculptural stair.
One of the key features of the home - a subtropical hanging garden terrace, offers a space for coming together as a family as well as entertaining friends around the BBQ while overlooking the pool. Natural timbers along with neutral tones complement the interior.
The Master Suite has been orientated to take advantage of the city aspect. The crowning piece of the home is the Roof Terrace which is a space to relax while enjoying 360 degree views of Brisbane.
